4.5/5 stars :)
A lovely, useful introduction to the current organization craze.
You'll learn stuff, too! This isn't just a how-to - it's a "why people have," interspersed with excerpts from famous journals and lots of tidbits about the lost art of journal-keeping. Well, mostly lost, as Miller is right here to revive it for you.
And revive it she does. Those already familiar with dot/bullet journals can jump right to the layout chapters and be inspired by Miller's lovely layouts (she includes a list of pens/suppl ...more
I had never heard of “dot journaling” before seeing this book, but I’m always interested in ways to manage my time and record those things that I might need to find later on This seems like an interesting take on doing that, starting with a blank journal. The process appeared to me to be focused on the manual creation of forms, and then using them. This is not a process for efficiency – you won’t be managing your time using less time with this system. Great guide but didn't mention Ryder Carroll. His website has a lot more to offer in terms of guides and how to understand the concept of "intentional living" through bullet journaling. And they're all free. This book is just a supplement. 8 to 10 bucks is not much, but there are others out there offering free guides - - bullet journal advocates like Boho Berry or Tiny ray of sunshine or sunshine and stationery. There's tons of resources online, Youtube, Pinterest or Instagram and they're all fo ...more
I wasn't sure at first whether it was worth getting this book or not when one can easily search through pinterest and instagram for ideas on bullet journaling. But I'm glad that I did now. It is a light read, but also very informative.
Most of the book contains different ideas and layouts to try in your bullet journal. I found this useful especially for those that are just starting out or don't know what to put in their journal. The information on different pens and whatnot's was also very handy.
