Welcome to Mistletoe, Maine, a town where it's always in holiday season...and fortuitously, it actually is close to Christmas and everyone is gearing up for the holiday. Holly White's family owns the Reindeer Games Christmas tree farm, where guests are always welcome and there is plenty to keep everyone busy, but right now Holly is taking a break from the whirlwind, and visiting her friend Caroline West at the cupcake shop she owns and listening while she tells Holly of last night's fiasco. Caro ...more

After having finished Twelve Slays of Christmas last week, I decided to head back into Mistletoe immediately and read ‘Twas the Knife Before Christmas, the second instalment in the Christmas Tree Farm Mystery series.

    I was not let down.

First off, once again, the descriptions of Mistletoe and the Christmas Tree farm were beautifully cosy; I deeply regret that I couldn’t just hop into my book and see Reindeer Games for myself. All of the details from the farm's decor to the smells of the Hearth put

A nice cozy full of Christmas spirit. It was the first in this series and I loved both the cast of characters and the settings.

The romance part seemed a bit weird and I keep wondering if it's a romance or a weird type of friendship.

The mystery was good and kept me guessing till the end.

A good book, perfect for Christmas time.

Many thanks to Crooked Lane Books and Netgalley for this ARC

This is the second in the Christmas Tree Farm mystery series. We find Holly White again helping at her parents' farm as well as getting ready for the opening of the inn which Holly will be caretaker of. Holly and her friend, Caroline, go to the tree-lighting and during an unveiling, the body of a man Caroline was fighting with is found dead. Of course Caroline is number one on the suspect list and you can bet Holly won't take this lying down.

This book started a little slow for me but by the end

I received an ARC from Crooked Lane and Net Galley, thanks!

It's Christmas in July and what better way to celebrate than with a Christmas themed mystery. Twas the Knife Before Christmas is the second book in the Christmas Tree Farm Mystery series by Jacqueline Frost. The story starts at two weeks before Christmas with a murder in the cozy town of Mistletoe, Maine.

Our main character Holly is trying to clear her best friend's name and find out who is the real killer. Holly decides to start her own

Holly White’s best friend, Caroline had stood up for herself even though the argument had been public and heard by everyone. But when the next morning, Derek, the person she’d been arguing with, was found stabbed to death, thoughts immediately went to Caroline. It was made much worse by the discovery of her fingerprints on the murder weapon – and only hers. But the marble handled knife, which had her initials on it, had come from her shop – Caroline’s Cupcakes – so of course her prints would be ...more

Holly White is back again, unwittingly involved in another heinous crime in Mistletoe, ME. This time a local womanizer investor is found dead on the town square in the middle of the tree lighting. Unfortunately, Holly’s best friend Caroline, who just happened to be out with the deceased and left him in the middle of an argument, has become the prime suspect for the town sheriff. Holly cannot just let her best friend be bamboozled with this murder charge because, along with just about everyone, H ...more

I enjoy my time at Reindeer Games Christmas Tree Farm. The characters and setting is good. I did enjoy the head contractor of the Inn that is being built. Holly White needs to clear her friend of being the murderer, supervise the building of the Inn, get her jewelry she's sold made and shipped and work out her relationship with her boyfriend. Quite a full plate needing to be done before Christmas.

I reviewed a eARC provided by NetGalley from Crooked Lane for an honest review. - Very good series,
